Junge Frau mit affektiver Erkrankung

Was tun, wenn sie schwanger wird?

Das Risiko, an einer Depression zu erkranken, ist in keinem anderen Lebensabschnitt einer Frau so hoch wie in der Schwangerschaft. Die Erkrankungsraten schwanken je nach Studie zwischen 7 und 15% in Industrieländern und zwischen 19 und 25% in Entwicklungsländern [31, 77]. Im Vergleich dazu liegen die Erkrankungsraten im Wochenbett mit etwa 10% und außerhalb von Schwangerschaft und Wochenbett mit 7% niedriger [68]. Eine neuere Metaanalyse belegt unterschiedliche Prävalenzraten in den Trimena der Schwangerschaft: 7,4% für das erste, 12,8% für das zweite und 12,0% für das dritte Trimenon [10]. Das Auftreten von depressiven Symptomen während der Schwangerschaft gilt als wichtiger Risikofaktor für die Entwicklung einer postpartalen Depression.
