Morbus Parkinson
Können wir die Erkrankung aufhalten?

Die Therapie des Morbus Parkinson basiert auf der Subs titution des krankheitsbedingten chronisch progredienten dopaminergen Defizits, entweder durch Substitution von Dopamin in Form von Levodopa, durch Erhöhung des dopaminergen Angebots im Gehirn durch die Gabe von den Dopaminabbau hemmenden Substanzen (MAO-B- oder COMT- Hemmer) oder durch die direkte Stimulation von Dopaminrezeptoren durch Dopaminagonisten. Die dopaminerge Therapie ist besonders in den ersten Jahren der Erkrankung effektiv [1, 2], allerdings ist die chronische Levodopabehandlung mit der Entwicklung von motorischen Spätkomplikationen assoziiert.
